What you’re looking at

A composite sketch — drawn from a witness account by a sketch artist or witness — of an anomalous object reportedly seen in the southeastern United States in September 2023. The sketch itself is dated April 30, 2024.

Context

Composite sketches sit at the human end of the evidence spectrum. They cannot prove an object existed. What they reliably preserve is what a witness believed they saw, with shapes and proportions filtered through human memory and the artist's hand.

Why this matters

Sketches are downstream of imagery — but they are the best surviving record of incidents where no camera was present or no imagery was preserved. They become evidence-relevant only when the witness account itself can be cross-checked against other records (radar, additional witnesses, contemporaneous reports).

What it does NOT show

The sketch does not establish that an object existed, what its dimensions were, what altitude it occupied, or how long it was visible. Memory artifacts and conversational priming during the witness interview can both shape the final image.

Open questions

  1. Is the witness identified, even confidentially?

  2. Are there other witnesses to the same event?

  3. Did any radar or visual sensor in the region log anomalies for that timeframe?

  4. What prompted the sketch's commission seven months after the reported sighting?

Evidence rating

A single witness sketch, undated relative to its incident by seven months, with no corroborating sensor data published, sits very low on the evidence scale by design — not because the witness is untrustworthy, but because the medium is structurally low-fidelity.
